US Navy in Kuantan

Here are a few pictures of the US Navy in Kuantan. They were here to have exercises with our local navy. I was hoping to get them when they were doing their training but unfortunately this is all I got. I've been on Malaysian Navy ships before and being there on the US ships really felt like I was on a cruise ship. They have many, many different races and nationalities on board who have become US citizens and joined the Navy. They said they try to make their crew a reflection of their country with people from all over the world. I saw many Asians on board too. I think our Navy should try to do the same. I'd love to join if the environment was similar to the feeling I got aboard the US ships.
What do u think?

great pics i have never seen such a blue sky! Mon 19-Jul-2004 14:52

A day at the beach

I recently went to Kuantan to cover the American navy here to have training exercises with our local navy and managed to spend some time (a few hours) on the beach. It was really good to be away from the bustling city. And luckily, the weather was fantastic. I'd love to do it again soon. Now if only there was a beach as beautiful as this near KL...

cool pic. Fri 16-Jul-2004 14:15

DHL

Alas, I am now a proud owner of a Boeing 737...
Want your cargo flown somewhere...? I can give you discount... hahaha..

No seriously, DHL launched their first aircraft that operates only from KL to Singapore and back....

Blowing bubbles on a hazy day

This guy is here everyday on the corner of Sungai Wang and BB Plaza. I always wanted to get a shot of him but never had the right inspiration. Yesterday, it all came into place. I wanted to illustrate the haze and so I thought I'd try to get some people possible wearing face masks. I got a shot of a motorcyclist with a mask but I wasn't satisfied yet. Then I got this idea and shot the bubble guy with the haze in the sky.

Interesting time at the National Art Gallery

Saw this exhibit at the National Art Gallery yesterday. I thought it was really interesting. They call the prints/slides "duraclear."
I'd like to have an exhibition on this kind of printing one day.

I also saw a reeeaally old flame of mine there. At first I didn't recognise her. Just thought she was really familiar so we just said hi as we were passing each other. Then a few minutes later I realised it was Carmen!! She was with a guy with really long hair and I wasn't sure if he was her boyfriend or not. I wanted to go and say hi but then I wondered if she knew it was me. I mean, she did say hi to me so maybe she did recognise me. But only a simple "hi"?? I told myself to forget it and let the past be buried. Maybe that was what she wanted as well...

Hahaha! I wonder if your gf was there also...
Not a good thing to do if she's around!
